If it were not clear from my post I'm sorry. I don't think surgery is a
good treatment of morbid obesity (No treatment is good) Surgery is just
the most effective in terms of rate of patients who maintain normal or
near normal weight at 2 years. It is associated with significant M&M, and
therefore should be, IMHO, limited to patients where the health benefit is
clearly demonstrable, as the patients with sleep apnea.
