TURF - Ärzteforum

Sorry to have to ask this questions but I recently found myself having
to explain to a colleague the terms "GOMER" and "TURF" as in the HOUSE
OF GODS.
I forgot what TURF is the abbreviation for. Can anyone help?

I read the book too many years ago. I was a resident then and immensely
nauseated by the book. I threw it away after the first half. Probably
written by a psychopath.

The kind of patients that you want to yell at "Get Out of My Emergency Room"
TURF verb: To send away or transfer, as in not to treat, as in to avoid treating

I share your sentiments, unfortunately too many medical students
have read it, and too many doctors use the words, GOMER and TURF and too many
Emergency Room residents turf the gomers.
